How to Help
Wondering how you can help support and/or be involved with Hope for Cats, Inc?
As a totally volunteer-run, 501c3 nonprofit organization committed to helping our feline friends, we appreciate any contribution, great or small, to our cause. We accept monetary and/or in-kind donations, both of which are tax-deductible. Checks are joyously accepted and should be made payable to Hope for Cats, Inc. Granting a Legacy Gift is another wonderful way to support our mission. Our tax ID (EIN) is 20-8838122. There are numerous ways interested individuals can get involved, as follows:
Monetary Donation
Your tax deductible contributions pay for our biggest expenses -emergency medical expenses, spay/neuters, vaccines, medicines, cat food, and litter).
HFC receives no federal or state funds for support and is solely dependent upon fundraising events, adoption fees, foundation grants and private donations to support its cause. One hundred percent of raised funds and donations are used to purchase food, supplies and provide veterinary care for the cats we shelter at Jake’s Place and in foster homes.

- Donation Jars. Can you (or someone you know) put out a Hope for Cats, Inc. donation jar at your (their) place of business?

Volunteer
Volunteers are the heart of Hope for Cats, Inc. Jake’s Place needs volunteers who are ready, willing, and able to feed and/or clean just 2-3 hours one day, every week. Volunteers are also needed to transport cats to adoption shows or vet appointments, set up and conduct adoption shows at local pet stores, and assist with HFC fundraising activities.
Call or email HFC if you are interested in becoming a volunteer. You may also complete and submit the Volunteer Application on this Web site.
Sponsor
Through the Hope for Cats, Inc. Guardian Angel program you can sponsor one of the cats at Jake’s Place on a yearly basis. For $10.00 per month, you will receive a picture and quarterly letters from your sponsored cat, and have the satisfaction of knowing you have helped us provide for all the cats in our care. Another option is to sponsor one of our cats with special medical needs, by contributing specifically to his or her veterinary costs. Call or email us to obtain more information about the Guardian Angel program or about one of our “extra-special” cats. Both types of sponsorship are tax deductible.

Did you know that your United Way Donations can be designated to Hope For Cats, Inc.? 100% of the donation is transferred to us and no administrative fee is deducted when we are specified. HFC is now an approved charity for Federal & NY State Employees’ versions of the United Way payroll deduction known as Combined Federal Campaign & State Employees Federated Appeal. One hundred percent of all donations designated by employees will help our felines. Search and designate HFC as your recipient. We are listed under “Niagara Frontier” charities.
Memorial Donation
While posting a tribute to a beloved cat on the HFC Memorial page is always free, you can choose to make a donation in their memory, or in memory of a relative or friend who shared your love of our feline friends.
This is a wonderful way to remember the special people and animals in our lives, and at the same time help the many homeless and abandoned cats who haven’t yet known that joy. Memorial donations are tax deductible.
